Description
A new traffic signal equipped with pedestrian signals and high-visibility crosswalks is needed at the intersection of E Main Street & S 24th Street, adjacent to the Shockoe Bottom Pulse Station. Currently, there is inadequate pedestrian infrastructure. Automobiles speed through this intersection with no regard to the high volumes of pedestrians crossing to access the station platforms. Pedestrians are nearly hit by traffic on a daily basis at this location.

- Staff · January 8, 2020he City Pedestrian, Bicycle and Trails Coordinator was consulted on this request. He believes that a pedestrian signal (High-Intensity Activated crossWalK beacon) is not viable with a pedestrian WALK signal available one block away.
