Description
The intersection at 14th and Main needs a left turn sign and lane marker. It is unclear for traffic turning left on Main St. and for those going straight on 14th whether this is a dedicated turn lane, but the far left lane ends at the intersection. There is a sign on the light pole indicating left turn should yield. There have been many times people in the turn lane don’t realize it ends until they are in the intersection. I’ve seen many near accidents due to this confusion.

- Staff · September 18, 2019Since the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has taken ownership of this intersection while they build the I-95 Ramp @ Franklin, I will touch basis with them and see if there is something they cando to improve the situation mentioned in the request.
