Description
A crosswalk is needed on Hull Street Road at Swanson Road. People often cross Swanson to get between neighborhoods and to access the Food Lion on Swanson.

- Staff · July 17, 2019National engineering standards for new crosswalks require a certain number of pedestrians crossing during the peak hour. Pedestrians crossing Hull St at Swanson Rd did not meet the recommended number ofcrossings during any peak hour. Also for Hull Street with 24,000 vehicles a day, marked crosswalks alone are insufficient, since pedestrian crash risk may be increased by providing marked crosswalks alone. Other treatments such as a pedestrian signal would be needed but is not justified at Hull St and Swanson Rd.
