Description

I use this intersection daily, eastbound on McDonough. This intersection has a Stop sign for traffic traveling north/south on W 26th St. But regularly, drivers stop at that stop sign and as I am entering the intersection, they pull out as if they think I also have a stop sign. Today a car sped through without even applying brakes. Requesting either an all way stop or increased police presence to ticket drivers who run the existing stop sign. Thanks for considering.

All all-way stop installations must meet the conditions set forth in the MUTCD. This is a Federal manual that all traffic engineers must use. This intersection does not meet the conditions. A six year crash study did not reveal any reported crashes. Two STOP signs exist on 26th St eastbound. A shop order will be prepared to replace the stop bars on 26th St.
