Assess Existing Tree or Stump

Description

Hi Norm, Citizen called stating that there was a limb hanging from a city tree back in October which was blocking the sidewalks and an Arborist came out and cut the limb so that citizens could get by, but he was told that someone would be back in November to do maintenance on the tree. He would like for someone to come out and complete. He said he would like to be present when the work is done. He can be reached at 804-380-8266 anytime. He stated he is retired.

  Good afternoon, I have received a request from Mr. Squire regarding a tree maintenance request that he placed in January. He is very upset as he was apparently told in October that Urban Forestry wouldcome out in November to remove the fallen part of the tree but this has not occurred.   nspected the site and unblocked the walkway. Gave to surveys to determine property line. Cannot get a truck to the area. Spoke with Mr. Squire concerning this.

  Talked to resident in person at noon today. Communicated that our zoning division found the trunk of the tree to be on private property. Communicated to the resident that the removal of the trunk and large leaning piece was his and that the trunk would need to be removed first in order to do the rest safely. Encouraged the resident to complete his own survey if he was not satisfied with the city's results. Resident was frustrated but understanding.
