Description

Message: Hi, I was told that RVA Parks and Rec are responsible for trees on City property. There is a tree in front of my condo that appears to have suffered from the heavy winds we received last week. It is severally leaning and will likely die if not attended to. I attempted to right it but found that I am not strong enough. It is located in the 700 block of Bowe Street adjacent to the Kroger parking lot off Broad. I'm hoping the City might be able to send a crew out to help this tree. I can't

    Assessment indicates possible vandalism. This tree was planted too deeply resulting in root mortality and poor establishment. Tree presents as leaning due to uproot with minimal and very poor root-to-soil interface and no support system or irrigation in place. Tree has a poor prognosis and cannot be preserved.
