Description
Huge broad leaf deciduous tree on the corner of E Clay and N 24th streets; tree seems healthy, but branches (roughly as thick as the circumference of a football) are splitting off due to storms, and two large branches (~50 ft. long each) are dangling onto/over the electrical power lines. A few weeks ago, most of Church Hill lost power and the tree branches were an issue for the Dominion serviceman as he tried to restore power. He attempted to remove them from the power line but was unsuccessful. Parts of these branches and others snap off every time it storms, but recently the post-storm debris has gotten worse, at times causing damage to nearby cars and recently tearing off a portion of our gutter. Our neighbors have made requests about this tree as well, and the damage to the tree, surrounding property and potential hazard due to the interference with the electrical lines has gone unaddressed and continues to pose an increased risk. Thanks!
