Description
Contractors hired by the city uncovered a buried manhole and wastewater drain on city property behind my home on Wednesday, March 18th. There is now a consistent sewer smell wafting into my backyard. My dad is a public utilities/stormwater guy in Fairfax County, he says there should not be an odor. The onset of the odor occurred after the raising and uncovering of the city manhole and stormwater drain. I believe other manholes were raised and drains uncovered throughout the city parcel between my home and the appartment complexes behind my home. We are concerned sewage could be leaking because of a pipe disruption or that something was sealed incorrectly.
