Description
The pedestrian improvement on this stretch of Midlothian have poses challenges to drivers trying to come in & out of the neighborhood. The light on Roanoke is too short to allow for drivers to make a left due to the long line of cars waiting for the light on the other side. This stretch of Midlothian also has visibility limitations during dawn/dusk. Same goes for Wythemar. Please fix before school resumes.

- Staff · August 22, 2025Dear Citizen, Thank you for reaching out with your concerns regarding traffic conditions along Midlothian Turnpike. I appreciate you taking the time to provide additional clarification during our recent phone conversation. As we discussed, your request pertains to the intersection of Darden Street and Midlothian Turnpike, where you noted challenges for drivers entering and exiting the neighborhood and visibility limitations during certain times of the day. Our team will conduct a traffic signal warrant analysis at this location. This process involves collecting and reviewing traffic volume data, crash history, and operational characteristics of the intersection to determine whether the installation of a new traffic signal is justified based on the criteria set forth in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). If the analysis determines that a signal is warranted, we will follow up with you regarding the results and the next steps in the process. Thank you again for bringing this matter to our attention. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions in the meantime. I am closing this request for now. Sayed Adel
