Description
There is a pothole/possible sinkhole that has been forming in front of my house for weeks. There is a leak at my water meter that has been ongoing for weeks (if not months) that I have reported several times and no one has come out and done anything at the meter. I don't know why the website says response in 24 hours and that a leak is "an emergency." It took two weeks for somebody to come and throw a shovel full of asphalt on the hole that had water in it. Not only is there a hole but the pavement is actually deformed into a hump, most likely because the ground underneath is unstable due to saturated ground from the ongoing unrepaired water leak. There is a bus stop there. I hear cars and trucks all day long hitting this hole. If the water leak is not addressed first, it is not going to help this continuing pothole or sinkhole that's forming from the soft ground. The ground is mush all around the water meter. I don't know when this issue started because due to my age and a back injury I no longer handle taking care of my front yard. A neighbor told me. The pavement issue cannot be handled by throwing a shovel of asphalt on the road and leaving it. Photos included are of the shovel of asphalt "solution". It does not look like that now--the hole is back and crumbling, but in the photo you can see how the white line doesn't line up straight. That's the road deformation!
