Description
I didn't know what category to put this in, but: A pothole, and possibly a sinkhole, is sinking into the pavement at the site of a storm-water project that was completed in 2023. The project, which regraded a gutter and installed four new storm drains, has greatly reduced flooding at the intersection and private-property flooding on the north side of the 3000 block at E. Broad St. But a depression recently appeared in the fresh pavement next to the manhole cover that was installed as part of the project. It has gotten larger and deeper in a very short time (It catches a lot of drivers by surprise). I wonder if a leak in the connection of the new section to the existing pipe has created a void next to the manhole. This was, not doubt, an expense project, and we don't want it crumbling just months after completion.
