Description

An opening in the asphalt has appeared in the WB curb lane. It is not a pothole, as there is a visible void under the pavement. This appears to be a continuation of the erosion under the pavement in the EB lanes. I reported that erosion previously and the response was 'its a pothole that we will backfill'. That was within 6 months of Grove being repaved, and the Excavation Restoration Manual for the City says that the asphalt in that area should have been removed, and the issue under the asphalt be remediated. This was confirmed by the author of that Manual. The asphalt in the EB lanes continues to collapse, clearly in line with the storm sewer. This issue along with the large puddle that forms after any rainfall, at the same address, has existed for too long. I report it regularly and usually get a call from whomever is sent out. They acknowledge the issue, but nothing comes of it. Please escalate this to the Director, so these issues can be addressed.
