D. Rivers made contact with the citizen using the phone number (804) 592-0708 on the request (no name submitted) Civic Association Swansboro West. Citizen indicated that a group walked the neighborhood yesterday & reported several problems but she was not with the group so she is not exactly sure what is missing but believe the cover is in the roadway. Note: The Call to citizen was made on 6/30/2024 to confirmed that the water meter cover is indeed missing & not a storm basin manhole cover. Based on the information received from the citizen & the description (approximate size of the opening) it is more than likely a water meter cover missing for the residential valve or another water meter cover for the main water line valve. As call was placed to DPU Customer Service 24 hour base operation (B. McCullough answered) as a courtesy to the citizen for a Water Technician to assess this location today (Sunday, June 30, 2024) for safety of the community. Request will be closed to DPU Storm Water Division as there is no storm water asset affected. Note: Citizen was given my name & number to call back with more information if needed. Citizen called back Denise Payne and confirmed that Amy Robins stated it is a plastic cover that is cracked.
