Description
Ellwood & Auburn is an incredibly dangerous intersection. I had a car totaled by someone running the stop sign at South Auburn, had my parked car majorly damaged from a four-car accident and have witnessed many other cars get totaled. It is on a main road and is fed by a stoplight at the adjacent main road (Auburn and Cary). People drive so fast; I have had and have seen people have to jump out of the way from cars that would have killed or disabled them. Please install a light or 4 way stop.

- Staff · April 16, 2024WRONG REQUEST TYPE FWD TO DPW
- Staff · April 16, 2024Cityworks ID: 527112
- Staff · April 23, 2024The Department of Public Works (DPW) must perform engineering studies in accordance with the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) before installing an all-way stop. All all-way stops must meet the warrants in the MUTCD. The intersection of Ellwood and Auburn does not currently meet the traffic volume requirements for an all-way stop. Crosswalks are marked on each leg of Ellwood and Auburn. Stop signs and stop bars are on each leg of Auburn. Ellwood is posted at 25mph. The intersection has curb extensions and No Parking signs on both the north and south curb to enhance sight distance. Additional improvements are not currently planned.
