Description
The intersection at Monument ave and Malvern ave has frequent accidents. In an effort to increase roadway safety, I am requesting that the left lanes going both north and south have a “left turn only” signal. All through traffic and right turns should use the right lane. A format like this has already been implemented at Malvern and Patterson ave. See the attachment.

If any safety issues are identified, we will conduct a thorough analysis and provide appropriate recommendations. Based on the most recent data available from the VDOT crash database, there have been no reported crashes at this intersection since July 2023. Given these findings, no further action is needed at this time, and this service request will be closed. We appreciate your input and continued interest in improving traffic safety in our community.
