Description

There is a sinkhole roughly 12" in diameter and ~5 feet deep in my yarn in front of a small lamp post. There is a storm water drain that runs underneath this area and empties into a swale behind my house. I called about this problem in September and gentlemen from the city came out and placed an orange barrel over the hole. They told me that they would need to schedule a truck to take images of the inside of the pipe to see if it was damaged. The truck came the following Monday, but they did not communicate anything with me apart from asking if the truck could be parked in my driveway. I've called a couple of other times since with no further resolution so I figured I could get some information through this website. I would like to know if the storm water drain is damaged and causing my sinkhole. If it is not then I can take the steps necessary to fill the hole. If it is, then anything I do to fill the hole will only be a temporary solution. If that is also the case then I would like for the city to go ahead and take their orange barrel back as it has been in my yard for months now.

There is currently a sinkhole in my yard right above a large drainage pipe. I have called a couple of times to find out if the drainage pipe is damaged and so far they have only placed a safety barrel over the hole and didn't tell me what the next steps are.
Is it on the property?
Yes
Approximate size of the void?
Greater than 12 inches
