Description

There is a very deep, wide, dangerous, ever-growing sink hole that has opened up on a highly trafficked foot path. This is overtop of a part of the road and sidewalk that had a huge sinkhole after Hurricane Gaston and resulted in homes being condemned for years. There are currently traffic cones in the hole but the hole continues to grow every rain storm. This is highly alarming to the community of the area as many were here during the original sinkhole. Furthermore, the stuffing of cones into the hole still leaves a huge safety hazard. The hole is deep and a large safety and legal risk to pets and humans. What is the city's plan? This was brought to the city's attention multiple times via call and previous requests. Additionally, houses in the area are experiencing basement flooding, the Chimborazo Park is flooding, and the sinkhole is opening up again. All of these issues have not occurred in years. Now a sewage and drainage project "upstream" of these areas is affecting flow. Is it all related? What can the city do to look into these issues and prevent safety hazards and home destruction?
