Description

Hole in street 8”x4” & growing. Area depressing around hole 12”x 15” & growing. Hole descends 12” below surface of asphalt. If child get foot or leg stuck in hole while walking or running, they could be seriously hurt. Reported at least 3x to city. City rep graciously called & stated measurements taken at 10pm at night & issue referred to proper entities. However, more than a day has passed & hole still open & residents at risk. I thought that repairs would have been started this morning to mitigate harm. Some type resolution, even partial , needs to be performed immediately without delay. A contractor has just appeared stating that they have been retained by city to see if the hole is in any way related to a sewer issue. They will not fix hole, just run tests related to sewers & then report back to city. However, hole will remain when they leave. City staff came today & placed a large metal plate, surrounded by asphalt, over depressed area. Thank you for improving the safety for the residents. Much appreciated.
