Description
We need more traffic calming measures down Forest Hill Ave, including the installation of one+ traffic lights. Cars frequently go 45+ mph in this area marked as 30 mph. Many people, including children, cross Forst Hill daily for daycare, school, dog park, FH Park. Even with the two pedestrian signals at 43rd and 41st, cars do no stop or slow down for pedestrians. VERY DANGEROUS!

- Staff · August 2, 2023There is an upcoming federally funded project at this area. The project involves pedestrian safety improvements along Forest Hill Avenue at the W 41st St and W 43rd St intersections. Improvements will utilize traffic calming measures and will include the design and construction of curb ramps, crosswalk realignments, bike lane alignment shifts, modification of existing radial curb returns, stormwater infrastructure redesign, and installation of rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFB). The project is currently under the design.
