Description
I'm requesting the city install a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB) at the intersection of Northampton st and Williamsburg rd. Crossing the road to go to the Powhatan playground, the rec facilities, the community center, and the pool is hazardous. Cars, trucks, and construction vehicles speed in both ways. While there is a pedestrian stop cone vehicles won't stop. And the traffic light at Fire Station 8 only turns red when firetrucks are active. Children and adults cannot cross safely

- Staff · April 10, 2024RRFB’s on Williamsburg Rd at Northampton St are not in the draft 2025 Capital Improvement Plan. A crosswalk and pedestrian crossing signs are present, but I noticed in the June 2023 Google Street view that one set of signs is missing. An engineer will field verify and make sure all signs exist as they did in 2022.
