Description
I originally reported this 1/11/20 (DPU00000793). Request was closed 1/27/23 w/o being fixed. It started out as a puddle & became a big sink hole. you came a put a metal plate 2/4/20. But nothing has been done since, So. it's still raised & unfixed. Because it is raised, 2 cars cannot pass. 1 has to pull over so the other can pass. Is this ever going to be fixed? 2 gentlemen came out on 4/11/23. They said "City would come out w/ more asphalt so plate wouldn't move. They DIDN'T say City would fix. Then 3 City employess were out 4/17/23. Got out of truck, looked at & drove off! It's now 6/9/23 & nothing has been done. Please advise!!! I've been waiting for this to be fixed since originally reported 1/11/20. 2 workers w/ the city told me over 2 years ago that city would (not fix) put more asphalt down around plate so it wouldn't pop up & make noise. Especially since Government Road is closed & drivers are ignoring the detour signs. As shown in pics, workers came & fixed some potholes right beside plate. Did they put down asphalt around the plate so it wouldn't pop up? No!!! I'm at a loss of what to do to get this fixed. I guess the next recourse is to contact Cynthia Newbill. 5/8/25 - Yay, looks like the city might be working on fixing. About time as I originally reported 1/11/20!! My boyfriend talk to the company that's going to do the boring. I talk to a gentleman w/ Benchmark (marking where the utilities are) Mon. I talked to a surveyor Wed that is also looking at where the utilities are. He thought it had something to do w/ the "hole". 7/18/25 - still not fixed. Pic is from today. - A lot of paving has been going on in the area. You just finished the 3600 block of E. Broad St. Looks very good! - hope this will get fixed before you pave N. 36th Street. Originally reported 1/11/20. - your last comment added was 4/3/23 cityworks id 497526 8/18/25 - sent DPW an email as they sent a list of areas to pave in Church Hill to Sam Patterson 6/26/25. It included 36th Street which did NOT get paved. Maybe as they are waiting on DPU to fix. Benchmark came out & marked the street where utilities are. A company was supposed to come drill per employee. The next day, a surveyor was out. He said they would send the city the results. This was about a 3 months ago. Again, nothing has been done nor comment from the city. Ladonna Hardy Wilson w/ city is checking on. Maybe she'll get something done. 11/26/25 Benchmark was out 5/12/25 & marked where the utilities where. Then on 5/14/25, a surveyor who said they where also surveying the utilities for the company to drill. That company would then send their results to the city. Never saw anyone drilling. Then 8/19/25, Accumark was out to mark the utilities again. Today, 11/26/25, Benckmark was out again. A gentleman got out of car, checked their markings from 5/12/25 . Still there. So, he got back in car, sat there about 10 mins, then left. You've now had Benchmark out twice (5/12 & 11/26) & Accumark out once (8/19). I hope this means you're finally going to fix??! Reported 1/11/20 & last comment from city 4/3/23.
