Description
Regularly from approximately 2:30 to 6:30 AM a pungent sewer odor is detected in my apartment directly above the sewer at the intersection of South 22nd and E. Cary St. While not limited to these hours based on my observations and records it tends to be around this timeframe. This odor lasts for hours and is noxious and not coming from internal sinks drains or tubs. Interior hallways in the building do not have said odor and only when outside near the sewer is the odor extremely bad. There have been multiple times I’ve woken up in the night and have either had to use my chemical, half-face respirator or leave the building. This is not a temporary problem and has been happening for months. I have had visitors leave my apartment because of the odor. Please contact me and/or assess the situation. The lower half of S. 22nd St. between East Cary and East Main has a constant stench that is detectable at all times outside the building. This second smell is not the same as the first both, and more closely resembles rotting vegetation or excrement.
