Description

Hello: We have a nasty stormwater problem on the north side of the 3000 block on E Broad. The stormdrain at the intersection of E Broad and 31st clogs and backs up in even moderate rain. in heavy rain, the street floods, the sidewalk floods, and water flows between from the street, between houses, flooding and basement, back yard and alley at 3014 E Broad and adjacent properties. Please watch this one-minute video. Like many older properties, I already have large rooftops draining onto a small lot. I can mitigate that with drains, pumps and landscaping. But I can do nothing about thousands of gallons flowing out of the city stormwater system and onto my property. The stormdrain intake has been compromised by the buildup of pavement over the years, making for a small hole, but it clogs even when the entrance is clear (I have cleared it myself many times). It probably needs a more modern replacement, but even simple modifications might make a big difference. Please help. Thank you, Dan Montgomery

Visual inspection indicates the storm drains are clear and working correctly. To follow up a visit to the location will be conducted during the next rain event.
