- Staff · August 20, 2020DPU Storm Water Utility Division personnel assess this request and spoke with Mr. Brandon onsite: Found: Both sub basins at 1000 N 21st St filled with sediment; one (1) has heavy tree root intrusion from a large tree on the side. See photo. Catch Basin (no slot drain by design) was relatively clean at time of assessment but positive drainage was restricted due to sub-basin being clogged. C & G (curb & gutter was filled with sediment on side of 1000N 21st St. Immediate Action: Dispatch crew to location to clean entire intersection at N 21st St & P St. Crew starting cleaning at quadrant next to 1000 N 21st St. Both sub-basin cleaned on 8/20. One storm water pipe lateral cleaned with high pressure water in front 1000 N 21st St. Roots removed from drain in front at 1000 N 21 St St. Follow-Up require to finish cleaning all inlets / basins at said intersection to include cleaning all lateral pipe connection that has access. Note; Tree root intrusion on side of 1000 N 21st St has push the cast iron top away from the curb creating a very small gap. Tree root will be cut to fix. Will forward to DPW Urban Forestry for guidance.
