DPU Storm Water Personnel will place no parking signs at 6 N 18th & Walnut Alley for maintenance to be performed on inlets on Monday, August 24, 2020. Contact was made with Ms. Fitz on Friday, August 21, 2020. Apologized for the delay in service without any excuse. Citizen inquired if we could installed a steel grate at the inlet slot opening to prevent bottle, debris & other trash from entering the inlet? Ms. Fitz advised that the installation ofa steel grate will hamper positive drainage if the debris become hung on the steel grate. By design the slot opening should generally be 6"-8" to create positive drainage during and after a rain event. DPU Storm Water Utility Division will checkthe slot opening to ensure the opening has not being affected by asphalt build-up during paving. Ms. Fitz inquired about the placement of DPW Super Cans by other business at Walnut Alley that is affecting her business. Interim Operation Manager for DPW Refuse Division contacted by phone & email to follow up with Ms. Fitz.
