Report Clearing or Erosion Issues on Construction Site

Description

The entire construction area for the road expansion on Forest Hill has not been worked in over a month, and there isn’t any grass growing. The erosion and sediment controls are laughable - they can’t have been put in correctly and are massively failing. It’s a sedimentation nightmare and a complete eye sore for our community. Pull it together Richmond and get this construction site under control!

  A city E & S inspector wiil be out to look at the site today. With the excessive rain we have had, some projects are having a harder time remaining stabilized. This is a shared roadway project with the VA Department of Transportation. If you have specific examples of incorrectly insptalled E & S control measures, please forward them to us. Additionally, the VDOT should be notified of the issues you have noted @ https://my.vdot.virginia.gov/

  The project has been on hold while the we are working through several unanticipated utility delays. We are working to resolve these issues. It is my understanding that the site was stabilized and the several E&S issues were addressed in early June after our DEQ inspection. The project is still being inspected at the required frequencies and E&S items are being fixed as identified. If there are any specific areas of concern that need to be stabilized / re-stabilized please let us know. I know on several other projects around Richmond we have had trouble with grass growth due to the hot / dry summer so far.
